Geeked out completely until sated two weeks ago. A week of delish vocabulary, listening, stretching my thinking, learning.... And then to meet people whose thought process is constantly churning, inquiring, documenting, remarking. Oh goodness check out Casablanca and Accra to see why I have morphed into scholar Nguye. UTA-Do Did..
There were debates on the verb decolonization being replaced by localization. Reflecting here those are mutually exclusive actions regarding Urban thinking. Sure the term decolonization has been hijacked the reason we debate is its agency as a term heavily in rotation - for dismantling old paradigms that do not serve us as Africans now, it still holds currency. We need to continue to frame it as useful idealogy for our ways of being in the world
