Happy Independence Day Ghana 🇬ðŸ‡
March was significant in the way it pivoted my consciousness sharply towards African archives. This sensitivity may be due to opening archives that have shifted me from antiquity to Pan African Congress to Afro feminism(s). These freedoms I enjoy now have been wrought through years of protest, interaction across geopolitical divides. Its fascinating that instinctively the energy you give out in even in scholarship comes at you, looking and finding your query, Those rabbit holes are significant in this way.

6th March 2023 it was surreal to be in Accra, standing hand on chest listening to colleagues singing the Ghananian national anthem. Very glad to be alive and
participant to discussions on scholarship, When Prof Akosua Adomafu Ampofu opened her keynote with Tems Crazy Tings! I knew I had found my village...these were my people. She talked on the state of scholarship and political entanglements, navigating gender relations and LGBTQIA+ movement in Africa. Accra was surreal and like I had come home the genes intelligence registered familiarity with these shores. Jamestown, Ussher Fort, National Museum of Ghana the Black Star monument, see the gallery here shortly..
Yes it is the gateway to Africa in a spiritual way, that a space embodies resistance and solemn pride all in one go. Do read this article on archiving the independence struggle and not just of Africa's Black Star. Folks are working in silence and I'm here for it!
